Windows 10 has been designed so it works just as well on a tablet (touchscreen) device as it does on a normal computer with a keyboard and mouse

 

The table below summarizes some common tasks and shows you the different ways of doing them depending on whether you use a keyboard/mouse or tablet/touch screen gestures

Unlocking the computer

Click anywhere with left mouse button or press a key on the keyboard

Swipe upwards

Closing programs / applications

Move mouse to top right corner of open window and click the X

Swipe down from the top of the screen to the bottom

Accessing settings

Click Start > Settings

Swipe in from the right of the screen and then tap All Settings

Notifications / Action Center

Click notifications_icon_win10 icon in bottom right corner

Swipe in from the right of the screen

Show running programs

Click the task_view_icon_win10 icon on taskbar

Swipe in from the left of the screen

Switch to another running application

Press Alt + Tab or click the program icon on the taskbar

Swipe in from the left of the screen - and tap the program you wish to switch to
