Do you get the message "X programs still need to close" every time you shutdown your computer?

 

If so then this can be caused by a number of reasons:-

 

1) The computer is old/slow and basically the programs are not closing down as quickly as Windows expects them to - often caused by lack of memory (RAM) or the computer just running slower due to age

 

2) Your computer is in need of a service / health check, as it is getting clogged up with temporary files and unnecessary programs running in the background which is delaying the shutdown process

 

You can obviously just click Force restart - but it is best to get the computer looked at to find the cause of the problem
