The first screen you will see when you power on your computer is the lock screen.

This screen shows your chosen Picture, Slideshow or Windows spotlight (a series of images from Bing which are overlayed with location information and useful facts).

It also shows the date / time, status of your internet/network connection, battery level (if using a laptop/tablet) and can also include other notifications such as calendar alerts, mail or weather.

To access your computer click anywhere on the screen, press a key, or swipe upwards if using a tablet and you will then be presented with the log-in screen (show below), where you can enter your password or PIN to access your computer.

If you have multiple users setup on the same computer then you will see icons for each user down the bottom left corner, click on the relevant user and then enter password or PIN to login.

If you have a device with a camera then you can also swipe downwards on the lock screen to use it without having to log-in first.
