To add an email account to your Android device:

 

1)Open Settings on your Android Device

 

2)Select Accounts and backup followed by Manage Accounts

 

3)Scroll down and click on + Add Account

 

4)Select Email from the account types then other

 

5)Enter your email address and password - in most cases the settings should be automatically detected based on your email address, if not select Manual setup

 

6)Scroll down to the bottom and select server settings, and enter the details provided by your ISP

 

7)Select Done once completed

 

 

The above steps will vary depending upon the make / model of your device and what app you use to access your emails, details specific to some other devices / apps are below:-

 

Samsung

 

1)Select Apps

 

2)Select Samsung

 

3)Select Email

 

4)Enter your full Email address and Password. Select MANUAL SETUP

 

5)Select IMAP account and enter the details as below:

 

Under Username add your full email address

Under Password add your email password

Under Incoming server address add the details provided by your ISP

Security type - usually Incoming TLS unless advised different by your ISP

Port -  usually 993 unless advised different by your ISP

 

6)Scroll down and under Outgoing server address add the details provided by your ISP

 

Security type - usually STARTTLS unless advised different by your ISP

Port - usually 587 unless advised different by your ISP

Turn on Authentication required before sending emails unless advised different by your ISP

 

7)Your account is ready to use

 

Outlook for Android

 

1)Install the Outlook for Android app from the Google Play Store and then open it

 

2)Select Add Account

 

3)Enter your email address

 

4)Select Continue

 

5)Select IMAP

 

6)Enter your email password (select the crossed out eye icon to display)

 

7)Under Display name add how you would like your name to be seen

 

8)Add description

 

9)Select Advanced Settings

 

10)Under IMAP Incoming Mail Server enter the details provided by your ISP and usually Port 993 (unless advised different by your ISP)

 

Security Type - usually SSL/TLS unless advised different by your ISP

Under IMAP Username add your full email address

Under IMAP Password enter your email password

 

11)Scroll down

 

12)Under SMTP Outgoing Mail Server enter the details provided by your ISP and usually Port 587 (unless advised different by your ISP)

 

Security Type -  usually STARTTLS unless advised different by your ISP

Under SMTP Username add your full email address

Under SMTP Password add your email password

 

13)Check that everything is correct

 

14)Select the tick top right

 

15)The app will then login to your email account
