If you install an application that requires additional features or components for it to work - such as the .NET Framework - then Windows Features will automatically detect this and show the screen below offering to download and install this feature for you - rather than previous version of Windows where you would have to manually install these components before you could install your chosen application

 

 

Any additional components can easily be removed later if no longer required via Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off in the Control Panel
