When you Cut you remove the file from its previous location and paste it into its new location for example below we have cut the Genie file from the Pictures folder and have pasted it into the Cats folder, the file named Genie only now exists in the Cats folder

 

To Cut \ Paste either Right Click the File \ Folder and select Cut \ Paste from the menu

Click Edit from the File Menu and select Cut or Paste

 

or

 

Press Ctrl + X (Cut) or Ctrl +V (Paste)
